Unmesh Mashruwala Innovation Cell, also widely known as UMIC, is a tech team formed to embrace and develop the idea of an autonomous future. The team consists of 40+ diligent and dedicated students from various fields of study from IIT Bombay.
UMIC works on the principle of co-existence of Machines and Humans developing automated prototypes to make the world a safer and more sustainable place. Under the sheds of the UMIC, the primary area of focus is developing autonomous vehicles. Team AeRoVe is aiming for the skies and is on a continuous pursuit of advancing autonomous multi-copters and fixed-wing systems for search and rescue operations. Likewise, Team SeDriCa has its feet on the ground and is developing an autonomous car for the Indian roads.
Autonomous Aerial Vehicles Team
“A drone is often preferred for missions that are too ‘dull, dirty, or dangerous’ for manned aircraft.” The team AeRoVe of UMIC is on a never-ending pursuit of developing an ultimate system of autonomous fixed-wing as well as multirotor aircraft.
India's First Self-Driving Car
"Self-driving cars are the natural extension of active safety and obviously something we should do," says Elon Musk and we have no doubts about this. Self-driving cars have always been a dream and the continuous advancements in technologies are bringing us a step closer to this dream.
